Vehicle Overview

This is the classic American convertible! (Listed with a below market reserve) a 1966 Ford Mustang with glistening chrome, GT/Rallye wheels, and a GT headlight package with OEM correct wiring and switch! (turn on the fog lights and the tail lights come on). 140 MPH speedometer! It is a beautiful EASY driver with POWER STEERING. Nearly every time I take it out I hear, "This is my dream car!" Mine too, but now is not the time.

It appears to be restored about 20 years ago. It's well sorted out, and all the major things have been done to make it a solid "car + coffee" contender! I recently installed the retro AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo with upgraded speakers in the dash, front kick panels, and rear quarter panels. I upgraded the soundproofing in the car when the stereo was installed, as well as adding an armrest with cup holders and charging and courtesy lights for all passengers. I replaced the rear seat belts with officially licensed versions and added a center set to make certain that a 5th person "riding the hump" was safe as well.

This car shows very very well, with a few chips and dings that could easily be addressed for a perfect look. Speaking of which, I just put on new chrome bumpers, heater core and hoses. All-new window rails, rollers, felt to tighten the window glass and new convertible gaskets to make the car "water tight." I am continuing to drive "Pony" and tinker with her to keep improving on the details until she sells. I will include a GT Rallye pack gauges cluster with a 8K tach and the factory wiring harness with the sale, and depending on my time I may install it since my OCD will make me.....

Mechanically this car is a little beast !!! With the 4-speed and sport exhaust it is exciting and can turn heads when you want the attention, but can purr down the street so your neighbors don't wake up when you come home late for sunset drives. The side exhausts are discreet but do give it a "pay attention to this" sort of vibe. The power steering makes it a pleasure for city driving. The convertible top and the brakes are both manual.

It doesn't need anything mechanically, other than a slight oil leak. I place an oil capture mat under it, as it is more a nuisance than a concern.

It was originally a factory air-conditioned car, which was removed but will be included with the car.

Please feel free to ask any questions! Go on, enjoy the summer with a fun classic auto!

thank you for the bids everyone. @Falk I do not see a way that I can direct message you. The reserve was $25K which is about $15K below the estimated value using Hemming's references.
