Going for the 1966 GT350 Clone car, it has been performed with wild success! A veritable whos who of parts, high performance...everything from the power plant to the suspension and everything in between, just read and youll be in to pluck this example from our Hallowed Halls. Exterior Retaining the original front end styling, some H4 7-inch high output headlights and smaller running lighting have been put on. I t retains the designers front end right down to the drivers side cloisonn badge, but now sports horizontal stainless steel bars for the grille. A dual white stripe runs virtually the gamut of this car even below the front bumper for the GT350R lower valance, just above the bumper, then carrying on through the center of the now fiberglass GT350 hood and on to the back, through the trunk lid and around the rear roll pan. Remaining steel is straight and has slightly misaligned gaps, and is bathed in the deep end of the pool Sapphire Blue, and its well applied but does have notable inclusions throughout the finish. A white new convertible top is on and is pristine. Just above the rockers is another triple white stripe with some GT350 badging which is correct for a GT350 and this clone version. The outer facing V triple vertical bar tail lighting is on and dual stainless exhaust tips peek out from underneath the rear which also has the round backup lights. 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels are now in and are wrapped with 225/60R15;s in front and slightly larger 235/60R15s on back all with raised white letters. Suhweet! Interior Top down, radio on and slipped inside within the snappy totally recovered interior, thanks to TMI Auto Upholstery, that presents in white and blue Pony interior format and looks like new! The doors sport some tuck and roll inserts in the centers of a molded white vinyl peel with inset armrest and a door pull tray. A newer billet style actuator is now on along with a chromed crank. Inside overstuffed bomber style buckets are in with some tuck and roll and smooth sapphire blue vinyl is reserved for the bolsters and inserts are white opposing wide tuck and roll inserts, This holds true also for the rear 2 plus 2 bench. A wood rimmed steering wheel is fronting what appears as the original dash from the factory, but with a litany of add ons like the Holley Sniper EFI screen next to the speedo, and a tachometer and large chronograph clock hung off of either side of the steering column. This dash is now lit by LED lighting. A dark blue padded dash top is shading the instruments which are within a wood grained veneer front panel. The center has a large console between the buckets which runs to the front of the car where it houses the shifter. Veneer and some ribbed aluminum along with white plastic molds to the hump and makes it look as if it was originally from the factory. Very well done and like new only better with all the add ons. Drivetrain Under the hood which is fiberglass, (as previously stated), we now have a 306ci Ford V8. It has aluminum heads, a Ford Racing E-cam, a Holley Sniper efi system, A Holley Hypercoil, Holley Distributor, and 120amp single wire alternator. The exhale is aided by ceramic long tube headers and a Flowmaster exhaust. All is kept within temp range with a Champion cooling system featuring an aluminum radiator, and twin 12 fans, (1800cfm each). A new heater core is in, and a 340lph fuel pump feeds the fossils. On back is a Tremec world class T5 5-speed transmission, a Ford Racing high performance flywheel, stainless steel fuel lines and a 22 gallon fuel tank. Undercarriage More whos who with undercarriage suspension parts including a fully adjustable front suspension from PTP including roller bearing spring plates, Moog steering components, Borgeson power steering, Shelby front springs, a Shelby 1 inch drop, Drake rear springs, stainless steel brake lines, a new Wilwood master cylinder, and disc braking upfront featuring Kelsey Hayes front 4 piston version calipers, and rear drum brakes. No rust, just performance parts bolted on. Drive-Ability Our local crack decoder and my editor took the wheel for this test drive and he reported absolutely no problems with high performance on the acceleration, handling and braking fronts. Plenty of instrumentation to monitor and the comfy seats were to die for. This car is truly a buttoned up example and a very nice job at the 350 clone look. The hits just keep in coming with this clone and it looks and performs like it should, as it carries a hefty price tag, but when one sees the work that has gone into it, it may be a great deal! 6T08T2329245 6-1966 T-Metuchen, NJ Assy Plant 08-Mustang Convertible T-200ci I6 239245-Sequential Unit Number BUCK TAG C/O-Customer Order 691-Factory Rotation 19-Welding Bay D6-April 6th 76A-Convertible, Standard Buckets K-Nightmist Blue 22-Blue Standard Vinyl
