Classic Car Overview
This 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 two-door fastback was purchased approximately 44 years ago by the previous owner and 2 years for the current owner. The car experienced long-term storage prior to a refurbishment that was completed roughly two decades ago. A replacement rebuilt 289ci V8 was installed at that time, and other work included a repaint in Arcadian Blue and reupholstering the interior in blue vinyl. Equipment includes a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission, 15 steel wheels, power-assisted brakes, power steering, a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, chrome bumpers, a cabin heater, and an FM radio linked with aftermarket speakers. This Galaxie 500 fastback is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a shop manual, spare parts. The body was removed from the frame during the refurbishment two decades ago, per the previous seller, and it wears a repaint in Arcadian Blue. It features a single side mirror and chrome bumpers, and imperfections are noted on trim elements. The 15 five-hole steel wheels are mounted with Bridgestone tires. Imperfections are noted on the hubcaps. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted drums at each corner. The removed factory hubcaps accompany the car.The seating surfaces have been reupholstered and are trimmed in blue vinyl and patterned cloth. Interior equipment includes a cabin heater, a radio mounted beneath the dashboard, and an aftermarket speaker system. The dashboard pad, headliner, and carpeting were replaced under previous ownership. Instrumentation consists of a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 92k miles, approximately 1500 of which were added under current ownership. Total chassis mileage is unknown. The replacement 289ci V8 was rebuilt and then installed approximately two decades ago in favor of the factory six-cylinder unit. The engine features a two-barrel carburetor and sends power to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a differential with 3.00:1 gearing. A dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers were fitted. Please call Rich for details.
