Classic Car Overview
Stock 3.9L 240ci inline 6 motor runs and idles great. Engine rebuild has about 30k miles (estimated). Stock Holley 1940 carb. Stock Ford 3.03 3-speed column shift transmission works perfectly, including the synchronizer for downshifting to first gear while still moving. Ford 9-inch rear-end has 3.70 gear ratio. Drives straight and true all day. Fires right up, winter or summer.
I have owned this truck since 1995. Garage kept with frame-on restoration is about 10 years old. No dents or rust on any body panel. No rust in all the usual places (bed, floor pan, doors, door jams, roof, roof rain gutters, fenders). No significant rust on frame or suspension. LINEX professionally applied to floor board, bed, tailgate, and over the top of bedrails. POR-15 treatment applied to most unseen places that are prone to rust (inside doors, door jams, backside of fenders, engine compartment, bed, some underbelly). Doors/window assemblies are new and have no rattles. Tailgate in great condition. Professionally reupholstered bench seat is firm with zero wear. All interior switches work (lights, wipers, choke, fan, heater, defrost, cigarette lighter, dimmer switch, manual defrost lever, floor vents). Wheels professionally powder coated white, and hard to find Ford center caps.
This truck is in great shape in all the right places. However, I will list every single item I can think of that is not working, so there's no surprises. There are VERY FEW modifications to this truck. I tried to keep everything stock to keep it as original as possible.
Minor modifications that are not stock.
- Edelbrock 9 round air filter (original oil bath was not useable)
- Pertronix electronic points
- In-dash CD player with under-dash BOSE speakers that are NOT in the way
- Sliding rear window replaced original for better air flow options
- Trickle-charger plug in
Minor Cosmetic issues:
- Interior door paint has some small blemishes
- Some exterior rock-chips in white paint on grill
- Small rock-chips in windshield on passenger side, all treated and no runners.
- Headliner rear panel is not installed, has crack from installation
- Floor board has square cutout ready for Ford 4-speed transmission
Minor Mechanical issues:
- Speedometer driven gear needs replacement (speedo bounces)
- Emergency brake cable not attached to rear drums
- Wiper switch in dash is intermittent
New installations in recent years:
- Battery
- Starter
- Fuel Pump
- Spark Plugs/Wires
- Brake Master Cylinder
- Clutch
- Brakes (all 4 wheels)
- Edelbrock Air Filter
This is a very solid, very straight, rust free, mechanically sound truck. I tried to take pictures of most normally rusty places that are rust free. I have a large bin of used and new parts to go with it if desired.
