Under the hood, an upgraded Edelbrock 1406 600cfm with electric choke & air cleaner replaces the original Rochester Quadrajet set-up. The interior was also renewed with all-new cabin and door panel carpeting due to age. Its nicely bound with leatherette edging and a new shifter boot. The hood strap was also swapped for a correct replacement. History of Excalibur Vehicles: The original Excalibur was the brainchild of Studebakers Brooks Stevens, who took inspiration from the famous Mercedes-Benz SSK and decided to make a more modern interpretation. Originally designed in 1964 over a Studebaker chassis with their 289ci V8, Studebakers unfortunate demise forced the project in a different direction and connections ultimately landed the car with Corvette power.
