1966 Dodge A-100 Pickup For consignment, a 1966 Dodge A-100 pickup showing 8,559 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This ones been pro streeted and now puts out, according to our consignor, 450 horsepower. That means this odd little hauler can haul in a hurry! Exterior Regardless of the color, the distinctive shape can be confused with no other vehicle, but cover it in two stage Toreador Red and you have something truly exciting. The windows of the five window cab are tinted including the wild curved corner windows and front quarter pieces. The trunk hunkers low on the wheels and oh, what wheels! Theyre both 15-inch ET wheels but the rears are tubbed and deep while the fronts are multi spoke and despite the difference, the truck runs mostly parallel to the road with a slight forward rake. A Rat Fink painting adorns the right rear quarter and the front is a gleaming wall of windows, chrome, and the round headlights with wide bezels. The matte black bed is clean and occupied by the fender wells and rear axle bump out. The exterior is spotless and flaw free, ready for show. Interior Lipstick like paint covers the inner doors with chrome hardware and is worthy of being waxed while the seats pick up the red in their piping and the low back, black vinyl buckets are split by the engine cover that also serves as a tray. A simple three spoke steering wheel fronts the black dash with polished face plate that houses Mooneyes gauges while a big tachometer lives on the dash pad. Clean black carpet lines the floor from which a tall Hurst shifter arises while overhead, black steel panels cut down on reflection. Its more show quality on the inside with a pinstripe flourish on the glovebox and spotless conditions. Drivetrain Under the engine cover is a 360ci Magnum crate V8 putting out 450 horsepower according to our consignor and topped by a QuickFuel 4-barrel carburetor. Behind it resides a TCI A727 Torqueflite 3-speed transmission routing power to the Ford 9 with Currie components, 3.89 gears, and TracLoc. Custom crossover headers begin the exhaust process. Undercarriage Weve got clean conditions underneath with no surface rust nor errant fluids. The dual exhaust goes from the headers directly into the stainless muffler and then terminates under the bed. Wilwood brakes are on board for a system that has discs in front and drums in the back. A dropped front axle uses leaf springs and so does the rear, here adding traction bars to the mix. Drive-Ability You get a front row seat to this show! A picture window right in front of you, engine by your side, and legs over the front wheels! We turn over the 360 and a glorious exhaust note fills our halls, and ears, and we roll this red flyer onto the test loop to give it a go. Its one bad boy, but its got great manners when asked, straight tracking, amazing visibility, and of course, power on tap! We note the A/C, horn, and wipers dont work but all other functions afforded the driver operate as intended, and we haul back to the mall!
