Classic Car Overview
Un restored 28k original mile car.
1966 Chevrolet Nova SS, I have owned this Nova since March 2004. It had 24k original miles when I bought it. It has not been cut up in anyway. I have every original part except the transmission, shifter, carpet, exhaust and mono leaf springs. To my knowledge it has never had any body work other than the prep for a respray of the original sandalwood tan, which I have photos of.
Engine - Shafiroff 383 solid roller, with AFR heads. I have the original 283 on a stand in my garage.
Transmission - Custom 5 Spd Tremec TKO 600 from Keisler engineering, built for the exact shifter position for a manual 66 nova
Suspension - Front: stock rebult about 1500 miles ago Rear: GM multi leaf springs and custom subframe connectors
Brakes - Baer sport touring disc with dual chamber master cylinder , Rear stock drums
This car is really nice and was very expensive
when I bought it almost 15 years ago. I have the original
Protect-O-Plate documentation and the original owners manual. The 383
was in the car when I bought it, but it had a different carburetor and
intake manifold. Myself and Jeremy Curry/Auto Solutions Leesburg VA
pulled the engine because whomever installed the distributor used a
bronze drive gear and it was damaged, so the engine went to the machine
shop and was all cleaned up and reassembled with the correct billet
steel drive gear for the cam. The 383 went back in the car with a custom
AED holley double pumper and edelbrock air gap intake. I took it to a
classic car day at Mason Dixon Dragway and down the 1/4 mile one time to
see how she would run, with street tires and a gentle launch 11.88 at just under 119mph, which
I was very pleased with, and back in the parking area the nova was soon surrounded with admirers. That was its only time down the track, it is
much to nice for that, but I wanted to see how the car would perform with the fresh motor and new trans. It stays in my garage under cover I do not drive it very often, 4k
in 15 years, usually to the Leesburg car show and to cars n coffee
in Great Falls VA. I see alot of cars that people have put $100,000 in
restoring and or turning into pro touring rides and I see some that have
been messed with from the get go but are in some form of restore, but I
never see a nova that overall looks as classy and nice as mine. I
don't think there are many that haven't been restored and are this nice. With the multi link springs, disc brakes
and the modern trans this car shocks my friends by how nice it rides and
how capable it is.
