Classic Car Overview

1966 Chevrolet Corvette In 1963, following the popularity of the C1 Corvette, the C2 series was introduced and it was time for a total redesign. Inspiration was drawn from the 1957 Q Corvette and Bill Mitchells racing Sting Ray. It was quite a unique look and this was the 1st generation to wear the Sting Ray name that clearly influenced the design which incorporated long wedge like nose with peaked fenders. This 1966 belongs to the last few years of the C2 and is a beautiful example. It has undergone a complete restoration where a lot of care was taken to keep it very stock and original. It has been owned by the current owner for just over 30 years and since the build was completed it has been extremely well cared for. It is painted in the very popular Nassau Blue Metallic which is the correct code 976 for the car. This is paired with a White top which is in good condition and rarely gets used. The glass is in good condition throughout with no issues as are the chrome bumpers, stainless trim, emblems, side mirrors, door handles, etc. All of the lights work properly including the hideaway flip up headlights. The car has an awesome stance and rides on a set of factory Turbine wheels which are true knock offs and what you want to see on a car like this. The thin Coker Classic White wall tires (205/75R15) still have a lot of life left since being installed in 2024. The car is powered by its original numbers matching 327 Turbo Fire V8. It is painted Chevrolet Orange with a chrome air cleaner and everything has been kept very stock looking. It even utilizes factory GM hoses, etc. The motor runs great too and has plenty of power. It has that classic rumble when you start it up which is what you want to hear out of these Corvettes especially when equipped with factory side pipes. Paired with the motor is the original 4 speed manual transmission that shifts smooth and makes it a blast to drive. Another unique feature is this car was ordered with factory air conditioning, power steering and power brakes which are all rare options to find. The interior of the car is in great condition and done in its factory code 418 Dark Blue upholstery. The dual bucket seats are in excellent condition and have matching lap belts which store on the center console when not in use. This console also houses the shifter and power window switches. Where the console mates up to the dash you will find the original AM/FM radio and other controls. The woodgrain grip 3 spoke steering wheel looks great and has the Chevy bowtie horn button. All of its factory gauges are in place including the clock that actually works which is a rarity in a lot of classics. That is a testament to the quality of build and how well the car has been maintained. This beautiful C2 is a nicely optioned car, is numbers matching and in its factory colors. It doesnt get much better than that! This is a collector level Corvette that runs/drives just as good as it looks. Add it to your collection f
