Classic Car Overview
This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 convertible was refurbished in 1991 and was purchased by the current owner in 2009. It is powered by a 396ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction limited-slip rear differential, and it is finished in turquoise over black vinyl. Features include a power-operated black convertible soft top, electric windshield wipers, a front and rear coil-spring suspension, 15? American Racing wheels, front bucket seats, and an AM radio. This Chevelle SS 396 is now offered on dealer consignment by The Shop Club Seattle with service records and a clean Washington title.
The car was finished at the factory in Artesian Turquoise and was refinished in 1991. Equipment includes a power-operated black convertible soft top, faux hood vents, quad headlights, chrome bumpers, SS badging, a driver-side mirror, electric windshield wipers, quarter vent windows, and bright trim.
American Racing 15? wheels are mounted with 215/65 BFGoodrich Silvertown radial tires. The car is equipped with a front and rear coil-spring suspension, and stopping power is provided by front and rear drums. The suspension was overhauled in 2011, and the shocks were replaced in 2014.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in black vinyl. Interior appointments include front bucket seats, a floor-mounted shifter, manual-crank windows, an AM radio, and a lighted glove box.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a fuel level gauge. A tachometer is mounted underneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 14k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 396ci Turbo-Jet V8 was rebuilt in 1991 and features a quad-barrel carburetor.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction limited-slip rear differential. The transmission was rebuilt in 1990.
