From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.
Classic Car Overview
UPDATED (May 22, 2020)! Truck leaves the shop today. Rebuilt rear-end is reason for price change. Rear-end needed a complete rebuild and now has all new components. New 6-lug Yukon Gear & Axle axle shafts with YGA ring and pinion gears, new bearings and gaskets YGA 3.73 Positrac. Originally a 17 spline shaft, now upgraded to 30 spline. Also, recently switched the in cab fuel tank for the under bed K10 style fuel tank, new Edelbrock fuel pump and filters. Removed cab fuel tank. Masked off and painted the "CHEVROLET" grille letters red and the headlight bezels red to match the tailgate, the door handles and wheel hubs. Removed the under dash gauges and mounted in the instrument bezel using 1/8" steel cut and painted matte black. Will most likely have the truck in the shop in the coming week or two for power disc brakes and power steering.

This truck is a 1966 Chevrolet C10 "Custom" Cab Truck with the rare big back window and short wheelbase, fleet-side bed. It has the 327 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 in it with a 2-speed Powerglide transmission and rebuilt 3.73 rear-end with Positrac.
I bought this truck in January of 2016 out of Memphis, TN (last couple of pics on ad). It was basically a shell with a running engine and transmission. It had no seats, no gauges, all primer to include lamps and lenses and many wiring issues so it needed a lot of work to make it road ready. I have put a lot of time and money into this truck and it has come a long way (Can provide pricing list). Short history of what has been completed below. Engine has many modifications and upgrades (Check out pictures and video).
Upgrades front to back: High Performance Halogen Headlights with Halogen Blue Coated Bulbs, High Performance Headlight Harness, new chrome front bumper, new turn signal harness with new lenses and chrome bezels, new Optima Red Top Battery, 327 c.i. V8: new aluminum radiator with new hoses, new Edelbrock Performance EPS Intake Manifold, new thermostat, Edelbrock 4 barrel carb with electric choke, Edelbrock Crinkle-Black Valve Covers. Edelbrock Air Filter Covers, StreetFire HEI Distributor, MSD Spark Plug Wires, NGK Spark Plugs, new water pump, new high capacity alternator for 1980s Chevrolet. All new gaskets and fluids. Engine has less than 100 miles since upgrades. New door handle hardware for both doors with locks, chrome peep-style mirror driver's door, new ignition switch and wiring, new Chevelle style Chevrolet wood/matte black steering wheel, original leather bench seat with seat belts reupholstered by Bill's Upholstery in Arlington, TX. New wiring for rear of truck with new rear tail lenses w/blue dots and chrome bezels. Reverse lenses with chrome bezels. Drum brakes with wheel kits rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. Aluminum heater delete panels installed April 2020.
$1,000 WORTH OF PARTS (Shown in pics). Will also come with Painless Performance 21-Circuit Universal Truck Harnesses 10104 ($320 value) and under-bed K10 style 21-gallon steel gas tank (NOW INSTALLED) ($150 value), Kenwood DNX7190 HD DVD/Navigation receiver ($400 on ebay) as well as other various parts and pieces I have but not installed yet.
One of the most sought after C10s from 1960-1966 with option code A10 "Panoramic Cab Equip." Only 10% of the 66 C10s came with this option. TRUCK RUNS GREAT. (see video). Chevrolet made 57,386 Short Wheelbase Fleetside C10s in 1966 and they are getting harder to find.
Thanks again for checking it out. Any questions, please feel free to send an email and I'll respond as soon as I'm available.
