VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. Classic Car Overview

RARE AUTOMATIC Sunbeam Alpine IV for sale. The car is said to be one of 87 Automatic Alpines produced. In1965 the Roots company introduced the first Alpines offered with an automatic transmission. As the sales were so low for those vehicles, the company cut production of the automatic shift Alpines mid year and offered only manual shift in the following years
This car is a very good example in great running condition. Even with the automatic shift the 1.6 litre, 90hp engine cruises very nicely. While not perfect , she shows very well and has had a thorough gone through, which included: new shocks all around, rebuilt rear brake cylinders, new front brake calipers, new brakes all around, new exhaust from manifold to muffler, new trans seals, oil pan gasket, new Weber carburetor, new motor mounts, full tune up including, oil/filter, brake fluid replacement. The dash-pad was replaced, as well as the door cards. The car runs and drives beautifully. the body is in very good shape and seems to have been restored at some point in the past.
The top is in good condition but not perfect. The engine bay is clean and stock (except for the new Weber carb). This is a car you can drive daily, enjoy now and fully restore at a later time if desired. More pics to come.
