This 1965 Backdraft RT4 roadster has been treated to a full customization by Vintage Motorsports in North Haven, CT. It is powered by a Ford 427ci V8 engine built by Speed Logics producing 625hp and 550 ft/lbs of torque. This engine features a Dart block, AFR heads, all-forged internals, roller rockers and a hydraulic roller camshaft. The Borla stack injection system is managed by a Holley Terminator X ECU. The engine is mated to a TREMEC TKX 5-speed manual transmission with a McLeod twin-disc clutch and a QuickTime steel bellhousing. The VMS oil cooler system with a thermostat and remote filter mount supports the cooling system, which also includes an upgraded aluminum radiator and shroud. This RT4 features full coilover suspension in the front and rear. The IRS includes a Ford Super 8.8-inch differential, and steering is power-assisted, as are the 4-wheel disc brakes. Braking is handled by Wilwood and features 6-piston front calipers with 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors. The wheels are 18 inches and fitted with 335 rear tires. The exterior has been finished in historic Guardsmen Blue with Wimbledon White stripes and a Race Red center stripe to set it apart.

Not only does this build feature a removable fastback hardtop and front apron, but also the Backdraft GT body with front and rear fender vents. All the trim has been powder-coated in a coordinated Sterling Black finish, including the wheels and exhaust system. The sponsorship decals on the fenders and the racing numbers are removable vinyl. Paint protection film has been applied to the complete nose, the doors, the rear quarters and the contact surfaces of the removable hardtop. All the lighting has been upgraded to LED. The entire interior, including the trunk, has been custom-upholstered in black leather with off-white cross stitching. A carbon-fiber dash is enhanced with an aviation-inspired gauge set and switches panel. The Diamond Stitched leather steering wheel features a removable hub for additional room on entrance and exit. A billet Hurst short-handle shifter is dressed with a leather boot and billet trim ring and topped with a red shift ball. Both seats are heated for additional comfort, and a rear-view camera system has replaced the center mirror. Factory Black Package Build!
