1927 Chrysler Guide

In just a few short years, Walter P. Chrysler took his company from an unknown automotive manufacturer to fourth in the industry. Walter Chrysler was a perfectionist with a deep mechanical background. This aspect, probably more than anything, helped to make Chrysler Corporation grow quickly.

Classic Car Overview

I purchased this car in 2011 from family.  They owned it since 2002.   The title says 1965 GTO.   The VIN number is 237375K141009.  When you look at these codes it says in 1965 this is a Tempest.   There is paperwork from Pontiac Historic Society (PHS) that says this is not a "true GTO" and has wrote Tempest-GTO on the paperwork.  The GTO badges and hood appear to be factory.  The air conditioning was factory.    Has power steering and power brakes.  When you look at the VIN numbers the 2nd and 3rd number must be a 42 to be a GTO but the 42 was not available until 1966 from what I can tell.  Looking at other 1965 GTOs on this site they have 37 as the 2nd and 3rd numbers and say they are a GTO.   The original motor was a 2 barrel V8 326 CI.  The car now has a three pack of dual carburetors (Tri-power) but it is not original.

UPDATE:  After placing this ad several people have helped me learn more about the car.   This car apparently was a green tempest with gold interior.  There is some rust on the undercarriage and frame and a metal plate has been installed in the trunk assuming to repair some rust damage.  The motor appears to be a 389 from a full size Pontiac.   Apparently the TITLE of hte car saying GTO can be changed over the years.
