This 1965 Jaguar S-Type was sold new in November 1964 by British Motor Car Distributors of Walnut Creek, California, and was reportedly stored for over 40 years in Livermore, California before being acquired by the previous owner from the estate of its original owner in October 2020. Subsequent recommissioning included cleaning the fuel tanks, rebuilding the carburetors, fuel pumps, clutch cylinders, and brake master cylinder, and replacing the brake pads, rear shocks, and more outlined below. The car is finished in Old English White over red leather, and power is provided by a 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes independent rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, 16 chrome wire wheels, and a Derrington wood-rimmed steering wheel.

This S-Type is now offered with factory literature, original purchase paperwork, service records, a handwritten mileage and fuel fill-up logbook from the original owner, a dealer license plate frame, black California license plates, and a clean California title listing the car as a 1964 model.

The exterior is finished in Old English White and features chrome bumpers with overriders, a Leaper hood ornament, and dual fuel fillers. Close-up photos of the body, lenses, and trim are provided in the gallery below..

The car came factory-equipped with independent rear suspension and four-wheel disc brakes with the rears mounted inboard. The front brake hydraulics and rear shocks were replaced, and the master cylinder and rear brake calipers were also rebuilt during current ownership.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in red leather and the cabin features a matching lower dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include front bucket seats, a heater, a map light, and front and rear armrests. The clock is non-functional.

A Derrington wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a wood dashboard housing a 140-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicated 58k miles, around 100 of which were added during previous ownership, TMU although log book appears to be correct in documenting its miles and history.

The 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque. Recommissioning following over 40 years in storage included rebuilding the dual SU carburetors, cleaning the fuel tanks, installing a Bell stainless steel exhaust, resealing of the rear differential, rebuilding the clutch cylinders, and replacing battery, fluids, fuel pumps, sending units, speedometer cable, and cooling hoses.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional underside photos and photos of the car prior to being removed from storage are available in the photos

The original invoice from British Motor Car Distributors of Walnut Creek, California lists the optional equipment along with a total new price of $6,493.88.
