The car was acquired by the seller out of Texas in 2015, and subsequent work involved refinishing the hood and tailgate, installing a Holley four-barrel carburetor, MSD electronic ignition, and MagnaFlow mufflers, resurfacing the flywheel, and replacing the steering box, fuel pump, alternator, battery, ignition cylinder, spark plugs, clutch, and pressure plate. Additional equipment includes unassisted drum brakes, wire-spoke wheel covers, air conditioning, lap belts, and a push-button radio. This Ranchero is now offered with an owners manual, service records from current ownership, The bucket seats are upholstered in red and white vinyl and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap that is peeling and frames a 120-mph horizontal speedometer flanked by fuel-level and coolant-temperature gauges. Total mileage is unknown. he 289ci V8 was fitted with a four-barrel Holley 600-cfm carburetor and MSD electronic ignition under current ownership. The intake manifold gasket, fuel pump, and spark plugs were replaced in June 2016, the alternator was replaced in March 2017, and the battery was reportedly replaced following the sellers acquisition. The dual exhaust system was fitted with MagnaFlow mufflers and replacement rear pipes in December 2015, and a hanger was replaced in August 2016. An oil change was performed approximately 400 miles ago. The seller notes that the engine hesitates in fourth gear. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner T-10 four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the transmission was overhauled under current ownership, while work performed in March 2020 involved resurfacing the flywheel and replacing the clutch, pressure plate, and release and pilot bearings. Rust on the underbody is photographed in the gallery below. he warranty number on the reproduction date plate reveals that the car was built at the Lorain, Ohio, assembly plant and was factory-equipped with a 289ci V8 with a two-barrel carburetor.
