Classic Car Overview

1965 Ford Ranchero $15,750

White · 8 Cylinder · 129,550 miles

This meticulously restored 1965 Ford Ranchero Deluxe with all the eye straining trim is now available. Painted in that Wimbledon White color we all know and love on a classic Ford. It began life with a 289 that was later bored out .030, added a very throaty Competition Cam,  351 Windsor Heads, Small Block Chevy valves and lifters, Speed Pro Teflon Pistons, an Edelbrock Performer 289 Intake manifold, added a Performer-Link timing chain and Edelbrock Performer 4bbl 600 cfm carburetor, Lokar gas and kick down cables and Lokar gas pedal, new fuel line, fuel pump, hoses, gaskets, belts, and squeezed a couple beautiful sounding Shelby headers in the engine compartment, ending with a very respectful set of glass packs. The majority of the work went into the engine, which was all finished less than 4000 miles ago, with a bit left over for the tires and wheels, who doesn't love a set of Chrome five spoke Cragars to cruise around on and, of course,  all with a very tight rear end. It has a Ford 9" Detroit Locker back there, which is fun when you drive around those people that don't know what that "clicking" noise means when it happens, and even more fun when you drive by people that do know what that noise means, but the real magic happens when you're taking this little "Rocket" around corners. Just be careful, a little too much gas pedal and you will hit your head on the back window while wrenching your back out, believe me, I've done it myself. Just in case you want to dial in that cornering ability, you can, with the air shocks. I like it because I can stick the "butt" up in the air and it looks very nice. Although, I do have to remind myself to let it back down when I want to get up to highway speeds. I have all receipts for every part on that vehicle since we started the build years ago in the garage. It was a weekend thing we did together and it took us a long time to get it this far.  I never did get the chance to finish the brakes. It definitely needs an upgrade to stop that engine. The upgrade I had planned is available from Summitt for less than $500.00 and some elbow grease. I no longer have the physical ability nor the time to work on or with this dream machine of mine. This vehicle has not been outside the garage other than to be driven to car shows or out onto the lawn to have a bath in the last 20 years. It has even been covered inside the garage to keep the dust off.  I've had this vehicle for over 20 years and it breaks my heart to part with it, but it needs to go to someone with the ability to use it and drive it as I intended to. It needs to go to someone who can drive it often enough to make all that work worth the skinned knuckles and banged foreheads and bashed elbows and wrenched spines and frustrations and then ultimately the joy of success. I need the money to fix the house and buy some wood pellets, winter is coming.  My bad luck and hard times are going to lead to someone's very lucky day. Will it be you? Are you that lucky?
