Classic Car Overview

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1965 Ford Mustang. When Ford introduced the Mustang in April of 1964, it forever changed the American automotive landscape. Creating what would become known as the pony car segment, the Mustang offered sporty styling, a wide range of performance options, and everyday practicality at an affordable price. Its instant success cemented the Mustang as an American icon, and the 1965 model year remains one of the most recognizable and desirable classics ever produced.

Finished in its striking Rangoon Red, this Mustang Convertible captures the excitement and freedom that made these cars so popular. The vibrant exterior is complemented by a White power convertible top, creating a timeless color combination that is sure to turn heads whether the top is raised or lowered. Inside, youll find a matching Red vinyl interior that continues the classic styling theme and provides an inviting cabin for driver and passengers alike. Riding on classic 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich 235/60R15 tires, this Mustang has the stance to match its legendary looks.

Power comes from a 289 CID V8 that has been rebuilt and is paired with a rebuilt 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine has been thoughtfully upgraded with an Edelbrock aluminum intake topped by a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, ceramic-coated exhaust headers, MSD spark plug wires, an MSD distributor with Blaster coil, and an aluminum four-core radiator with an electric cooling fan to help keep temperatures in check. This combination provides the classic V8 driving experience while incorporating performance-minded enhancements that enthusiasts will appreciate.

The current owner has invested extensively in the car over the past decade, with much of the work performed by Gear Jammin Garage. Receipts documenting this work accompany the vehicle, offering the next owner a detailed history of the care and maintenance that has gone into preserving and improving this Mustang.

Designed to be enjoyed on weekend cruises or scenic drives, this Mustang is equipped with power steering for easier maneuverability and power brakes to enhance driver confidence. An AM/FM radio provides entertainment while youre behind the wheel, and with the touch of a button, the automatic convertible top allows you to enjoy open-air motoring whenever the weather calls for it.

With its iconic Rangoon Red finish, documented maintenance history, rebuilt drivetrain, tasteful performance upgrades, and timeless styling, this 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible is a wonderful example of one of Americas most beloved automobiles. Whether youre looking to add a first-generation Mustang to your collection or searching for a classic convertible to enjoy on sunny afternoons, this Mustang is ready for its next chapter.
