Classic Car Overview
This 1965 Ford Mustang fastback is said to have been refurbished under previous ownership around 2016, at which time a 347ci V8 crate engine was installed. The car was refinished in metallic blue with white stripes, rust repair was performed, and the black interior was redone. Equipment includes a three-speed automatic transmission, a Holley carburetor, Edelbrock cylinder heads, Shelby-style bodywork, 17 alloy wheels, front disc brakes, power steering, subframe connectors, engine-bay braces, a TMI Products center console, and Dakota Digital gauges.
The car reportedly was refinished around 2016 in its current shade of metallic blue. The body panels, floors, and front clip were replaced at that time. Features include white stripes, a pinned Shelby-style hood, an R-style front valance, quarter louvers, Shelby badging, side scoops, and dual exhaust outlets that terminate through the rear valance.
Silver-colored 17 alloy wheels with spinner-style center caps are mounted with BFGoodrich g-Force Comp 2 tires. Four-piston disc brakes have been added up front, and the brakes and steering are power assisted. Subframe connectors also have been installed.
The interior has been redone with black vinyl upholstery on the seating surfaces. A TMI Products leather-wrapped center console with cupholders has been installed. An aftermarket push-button radio is located in the center of the dash, and a JL Audio JX360/4 amplifier drives JL Audio speakers on the adjacent package shelf and in the front kick panels.
A Shelby-style steering wheel frames Dakota Digital instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer with an inset tachometer flanked by four gauges to monitor fuel level, voltage, water temperature, and oil pressure. A Shelby-style pod has been added to the center of the dash pad and contains a tachometer and a clock. The digital odometer shows 2,300 miles, approximately 20 of which have been added by the selling dealer. True chassis mileage is unknown.
A 347ci V8 from BluePrint Engines is said to have been built from a 302 block and makes use of an Edelbrock camshaft and cylinder heads as well as a Holley four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke. A billet Summit distributor, an aluminum radiator, and chassis braces also have been installed. In preparation for the sale the oil was changed and the fluids were topped off. According to the chassis number, the car received a 200ci inline-six from the factory. A three-speed automatic transmission delivers power to the rear wheels via an 8 axle.
Images at the end of the gallery show the car during its refurbishment, at which time the floors were replaced and other rust repair was performed.
A stamped plate has been inserted where the chassis stamping would normally be located on the fender apron. The selling dealer states that this portion of the vehicle was replaced during the refurbishment.
Since purchase in 2022, it has had regular tune-up/services. It runs great.
