STK 3299 1965 Ford Mustang The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the Pony Car. The Mustangs styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition. The first generation Mustang was manufactured from 1964-1/2 until 1973 and this restored 1965 model is a nice example of a coupe with numerous performance upgrades.The solid body was reshot in 2-stage Rich Aqua Blue in 2020. Chrome and stainless trim are in good condition. Gen2 Mustang Mach I 14 steel wheels mount Firestone Primewell radials. The interior was reupholstered in Blue vinyl w/new carpeting and a full gauge package has been added. This Mustang was a C code car from the factory 289ci/2V Windsor. That engine has been replaced with a built/balanced 347ci Stroker Windsor motor. It is fitted with DDS forged pistons, moly-chrome rings, Stage-3 COMP Cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake/carb and long tube headers w/custom side exhaust. The engine is nicely dressed with Summits Windsor chrome package. Power is delivered via a World Class T-5 manual gearbox and Ford 8 differential with 3.00:1 gearing. The clean, solid chassis is equipped with Borgeson power steering, manual disc/drum brakes w/dual master cylinder, new fuel tank and engine compartment fender brace.
