1965 Ford Mustang

Very nice highly documented 1965 southern Mustang. This is a one family owner until 2019 and purchased new near Knoxville Tennessee. DOCUMENTATION: Since a Marty report is not available for a 65 or 66 mustang, this may be one of best documented 65s you will find. The odometer shows 81, 347 miles and is documented by meticulous records of the original owner. He kept track of everything he did to the car and is written in his own handwriting in the owners manual along with two separate pages of notes. Also included in the documentation is the very hard to find customer identification plate. The original hang tag for the heater/defroster controls, original sales literature and color chips are also included. There are many receipts for work done over the years by the original owner most of which show the mileage of the car at the time of service. While this is not a Barrett Jackson level car it is truly an extremely nice driver quality classic that can be driven and enjoyed. CONDITION: The car had a light frame on restoration a few years back but remains mostly a survivor like car. The base coat clear coat rare dark turquoise paint still shines nicely. There is no paint blistering, bubbling or signs of rust. But if you look hard you will find some imperfections...but you have to look hard. All floor pans and body panels are original and solid. I have provided copies of code stampings for fenders and quarters to demonstrate originality. Glass appears to be all original car-lite and shows only light wear as you would expect with an 81,000 mile car. TRUNK: The trunk is super clean and has a new stainless steel gas tank. I have included the factory stampings on the bumper supports in the trunk so you can see there has not been any damage to the rear end. The trunk contains the original mat along with the original jack, wrench and what appears to be the original bias ply spare but has been used. UNDERSIDE: The underside is nice and clean with new shocks and recent exhaust. I just purchased a brand new set of $900 wheels to put on it. I still have the original steel wheels and two sets of wheel covers that go with the car. Also have a car cover that will be included. ENGINE: The engine bay is super clean. There are two things that are not OEM. The first one is the 4 bbl Holley carb and intake. However, I have the original 2 bbl autolite carb and intake that goes with the car. The carb still has the carb tag on it. The other thing not original is the brake master cylinder. This was changed out for safety reasons and it appears to be a 1967 dual bowl type MC. However, I also have the original round single bowl MC that came with the car. INTERIOR: The pony interior upgrade is super nice with new carpet. The original radio is still in the car and works great. OVERALL: This an overall very nice classic Mustang perfect for cruises and even car shows. It runs great and the automatic transmission shifts well. You will be hard pressed to find a classic Mustang at any price this well documented, especially a 65 or 66.
