LARRY'S LEGEND LIVES

Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.

1982 Mustang GT

Jim Clarke led the charge with the creation of the 5.0 HO V8 for the Mustang in 1982 and was responsible for the continuous improvement of the 5.0 throughout the '80s. What Jim and his team accomplished is truly amazing.

Classic Car Overview

1965 Mustang with refurbished interior and new paint. Original color Vintage Burgundy, slightly brighter red now. Pretty color I think. This mustang is a daily driver that's ready for a resto-mod conversion if desired, or just keep it as is. The body is extremely straight and chassis shows very little rust. It has the original 6 cylinder, 200 ci engine and a 3-speed manual transmission. $1000 put into a transmission rebuild/new clutch about 5000 miles ago. Runs strong, but vibrates on idle, may need a carburetor upgrade one day. While it looks beautiful, it's not a 'show car'. There are flaws in the paint and dings in the chrome, etc. But the body is dent free and if you wanted to restore it further or upgrade to a 4-speed or other transmission I think it would really cruise. I currently drive it to school and back daily and around town in the summer. Odometer shows 85,000, but probably 185,000. No way to know. The engine does leak a little/burn oil. Built in San Jose, September 1964. Shoulder belts added to front seat, lap belts added to rear seats. Alpine speakers installed. (audio deck not included). One of the nicest Mustangs on the market for the price. Selling because I would like to pursue a convertible. Clean title. Cash only. Located in Tacoma, Washington State.
