1965 Ford Mustang Convertible
Convertible Car for sale in Oxford, Florida 34484
Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there’s been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.
Jim Clarke led the charge with the creation of the 5.0 HO V8 for the Mustang in 1982 and was responsible for the continuous improvement of the 5.0 throughout the ’80s. What Jim and his team accomplished is truly amazing.

Classic Car Overview
1965 Ford Mustang Convertible $59,900
Desirable 1964 1/2 convertible Ford Mustang. This classic Pony Car finished in stunning Ford Diamond blue with a white top and interior. It's a classic color scheme that never gets old. Has recently undergone a complete restoration. Has less than 3k miles on it since it was restored. This car was built by the pros at Carolina Street Rods. Full build photo album will be supplied with car. I'm the second owner of this car and it was rust free. The floor pans were in perfect condition. This car has no patch panels. No detail of this Mustang was overlooked during the restoration. The car is equipped with power steering, power disk brakes, Vintage air, am-fm stereo and power top. All of the chrome is new. A 302 ci. 4V engine was installed with full ported & polished 289 heads with large valves. Has mild, good sounding cam with roller rockers, High-rise polished aluminum intake manifold and 600cfm Holley carb. Long tube ceramic coated headers with dual exhaust. A set of Flowmasters to set the tone. Engine is equipped with electronic ignition and serpentine belt system. Getting this power to the ground is the tough Ford AOD transmission. This small block Ford means business. When you fire this Mustang up, everyone will know there's no Plain Jane 302 under the hood! The engine is very responsive. Get that pushing you into the seat feeling while making great exhaust sounds. and beefy P215/60-R15 BFG T/A radial tires on a set of Torque Thrust D wheels. This Mustang drives as good as it looks. The power front disc brakes offer excellent stopping power to slow this pony down from a spirited sprint down that straightaway! The body and paint of this Mustang can only be described as spectacular with very straight sheet metal and extremely nice paint work, component fit is outstanding. From all appearances this was an expensive and top-quality restoration. The underside of this car is just as nice as the body and looks like it just rolled out of the Ford factory, in fact the factory didn t even build them this nice in 1965! All under chassis parts are brand new. Sway bar added for better handling. Have a seat in this magnificent machine and you will be equally impressed. The interior is all new, including dash pad, seat cushions and the most desired pony seat covers. Under the new carpet and padding is a generous coat of Lizard Skin for improved sound deadening. This car also has full console. The trunk has the correct mat and jack bag. Still has the factory sound deadening on inside of quarter panels in trunk area. When you see the Deluxe Pony Interior for the first time you will never want to sit in any pony car ever again. Take a seat behind the wheel and you will surely feel like you are back in 1965 again. It is all just as the Ford designers intended.
