2010 Cobra Jet

Following in the tradition of previous Ford factory built Mustang race cars like the 1968 Cobra Jet, the Boss 429 and the FR500S Mustang Challenge car, Ford Racing and AAI started work on a production run of 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs in January 2010. Ford Racing built 50 Cobra Jet Mustangs at Ford vendor facilities.

Classic Car Overview

This 1965 Backdraft RT4B racing model roadster number 3380 PHX is powered by a 5 Ltr Coyote V-8 engine paired with a T55 6- speed manual transmission. The incorporation of a BMW independent rear suspension system adds to the vehicles responsive handling characteristics. It is equipped with power disk brakes on both front and rear with 18 inch knock off wheels. This car is a special RT4 Black Edition with slightly wider quarter panels. It is finished in dark blue with contrasting black and yellow center stripes and gray pinstripes to finish off its stunning appearance. During the build and construction process for this cobra, the customers were involved in selecting specific items in their cars that they would like preferably blacked out. This resulted in the cars coming out essentially as a one of a kind machine. The interior features heated bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl and has a unique retro reversed speedometer and a Hurst shifter .
This car has massive power and great handling characteristics. Aesthetically it has a beautiful blend of authentic Cobra design with modern mechanical features.
This car is an absolute thrill to drive. The power to weight ratio is absolutely out of this world.
