1965 FIAT 500This Fiat has been part of a collection here in North Florida. It was restored and upgraded to 695 SS specs using a ABARTH kit for English RHD Fiat 500 sedans. The ABARTH factory only constructed LHD cars, thus cars built for the English market were assembled from kits by dealers in England.This RHD FIAT 500 was purchased from the ABARTH dealer Middle Barton Garage, in England, after it was restored and upgraded in 1994 to 695 SS specifications with every racing option available for the 500 series FIAT sedans. The restoration was completed in 1995, re-registered in England, MOTd in England, tested and shipped to the USA in early 1996.Shown in the first Concours dElegance at Amelia Island, Florida it was awarded a 1st in the racing car class. The owners then transported it to Nassau, Bahamas for the Nassau Speed Week commemorative event by racing driver Brian Redman. It was also shown in the Mini/Micro Car Nationals in Madison, Georgia in 2003.
