1965 Chevrolet Malibu
Convertible Car for sale by RB Car Collection in Allentown, Pennsylvania 18101
In just a few short years, Walter P. Chrysler took his company from an unknown automotive manufacturer to fourth in the industry. Walter Chrysler was a perfectionist with a deep mechanical background. This aspect, probably more than anything, helped to make Chrysler Corporation grow quickly.
A viable alternative that's still daring and different, the 1968 Chevy Impala SS 427. SS 427 Impalas are very distinctive and unique. Sales were modest, so finding an Impala SS 427, especially a convertible, could be a little challenging.
Classic Car Overview
RB Collection is incredibly pleased to offer this very original and attractive example of Chevrolet's compact performance car for 1965, the Chevelle Malibu SS. Keeping its original powertrain, this Malibu SS convertible is finished in Madeira Maroon over a Black interior, a very understated and rare color combination. It is a genuine Chevelle Malibu SS, 327 cubic in, 300H.P., V8 engine and equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission.
The Malibu SS presents in excellent condition overall, with straight body panels, good gaps, and retains a particularly good maroon paint. Doors and decklids are properly aligned and shut with a solid, satisfying feel. The original chrome and bright trim are all in good condition, including bumpers and the delicate grille with colorful central emblem, and along the polished rocker trims. The convertible top presents in ideal condition with no tears to be mentioned.
Inside, the redone Black upholstery is in marvelous condition. Front and rear seats show no signs of wear or damage, appearing fresh and unworn. Door and interior quarter panels are likewise in pristine condition, with correct arm rests in place. The Black loop carpeting is excellent. The instrument panel is superb and has a two-tone color treatment with the upper portion a dark tone non-reflective paint to reduce glare. Instruments, switches, and controls remain in particularly good order. The car has an upgraded period correct radio equipped with an original top mounting clock. The quality detailing extends to the trunk, correctly painted in gray spatter paint, and fitted with a correct trunk mat.
This Malibu runs extremely well, with good pull from the 327-cc engine. The chassis and undercarriage are in incredibly good order as well; clean, tidy, and solid with no corrosion.
This example is a real joy to drive, suitable for any show and cruise nights. It has seen limited use in the last decade.
