Classic Car Overview

All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance. We can assist with financing and shipping as needed.

Here is a gorgeous 1965 Corvette coupe with a lot to offer. It looks beautiful with its Nassau Blue paint and knockoff wheels but also has a numbers-matching 300hp 327ci engine, somewhat rare automatic transmission (< 10% of production), and many great options including factory air conditioning. All this makes for a head-turning midyear that anyone can drive and enjoy.

This C2 shows a build date of K29 (June 29, 1965) which puts it in the final 10% of 1965 production. It is the product of an older restoration that really holds up well. In 2002 it was awarded an NCRS Second Flight ribbon and has seen additional work since that time. The code FF Nassau Blue paint (with clear coat) is in great condition without any cracking and has to be one of the best colors for a midyear coupe. Body gaps and panel fitment are terrific throughout with some factory seam filler shrinkage evident on the rear clip. All the chrome shines nicely while the knockoff wheels with gold line tires from 2019 really add to the look.

The optional L75 327ci engine is original to the car and has been rebuilt but not decked. The block casting date is F 11 5 (June 11, 1965) while the Flint engine plant stamping shows an assembly date of 0615 (June 15, 1965) with an HR suffix code (300hp automatic with a/c) and matching VIN derivative. It has been rebuilt and remains stock including the ignition shielding and canister oil filter. The transmission is a Powerglide automatic which represents only 2,021 of 23,564 Corvettes for 1965. Final drive ratio is 3.70:1 with Positraction. Additional equipment on this car includes power steering and power 4-wheel disc brakes. It all makes for a car that is very easy for anyone to drive.

The blue interior really looks sharp. The seat upholstery was converted from vinyl to leather and is in excellent condition. Looking at the outstanding dashboard, instrument cluster, and controls will make you think you're back in 1965. Same with the teak steering wheel atop the telescoping steering column. Everything is in proper operating condition including the R134a air conditioning and power windows. Other functional equipment includes the headlights, dash lights, horn, radio, power antenna, wipers, heater/defroster, clock, and parking brake. The only change from stock is the sound system. The radio internals have been updated and an amplifier resides under the dash. There is also a removeable speaker tray residing in the storage well.

This is a very nice C2 with a hard-to-find blend of options and equipment. It is a beautiful Corvette inside and out, but it is also in good mechanical condition and ready for the road. While so many collector cars languish in a garage because they are too temperamental or difficult to drive, this one is just the opposite. It is a pleasure to operate with its street friendly drivetrain, power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. And isn't that the best way to enjoy a classic Corvette?
