Engine & Drivetrain This Corvette has the original numbers-matching 327, per the engine stamping number F0628HK stamped on the engine block, that is a 365 horsepower option that had a manual transmission, and with air conditioning, which ours has. It has what appears to be everything under the hood just as it was back when it was new including the Chevy Orange paint on the engine block and heads, original chrome ignition shielding and air cleaner, correct finned valve covers with Corvette script, factory A/C system, factory exhaust manifolds that flow into the throaty side-pipes, aluminum intake, Holley performance carb, H.D. radiator, and backed by a Muncie 4-speed and a correctly restored chassis with all the right parts. The 1965 is a great year to own because standard 4-wheel discs arrived on the Corvette and ours also have the beautiful knock-off alloys and Goldline tires for a correct look. Interior This Sting Ray has what seems to be the original correct code #414 blue vinyl interior that the Sting Ray had that offers a completely luxurious driving environment. For 1965, the interior features new trim of durable expanded vinyl with a more subtle texture in blue to match the body color. It has individual twin bucket-type seats that have a factory bolster-like design for more seating comfort and better lateral support and the blue theme extends to the carpet, door panels, and dual sun visors as well as floormats. The blue matching instrument panel has controls for the air/heater/defroster located on it along with the electrical clock and radio controls and vent controls that are located under the instrument panel on each side of the steering column. It has a matched speedometer and tachometer that are the primary instruments in the Sting Ray with an electrical fuel gauge, electrical coolant temperature gauge, ammeter, and an oil pressure gauge. It also has the head-light switch, cigarette lighter, head-lamp retractor switch, hood release, and four-position ignition switch that completes the instrument panel with the great factory wood steering wheel also. Exterior The styling changes on our 1965 Sting Ray were beautiful and ours has been restored and repainted in a correct Nassau Blue, (code FF) paint verified by the Trim Tag, to gain back that as new original beauty. The styling on our 1965 Sting Ray is beautiful with the louvers behind the front wheels that help increase air flow through the engine compartment, giving it both an aggressive and sophisticated look, the Corvette and Stingray emblems, chrome front and rear bumpers, taillights, door handles, the flip-up gas cap, side gills, and it still retains the original aggressive stance.
