The Most Desirable Corvette Ever?

The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!

The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.

Classic Car Overview

For sale is my 1965 Corvette Roadster, a great driver car in classic Rally Red with black interior. It has the original numbers-matching engine and drivetrain, with the 300hp 327 and a Powerglide automatic transmission. Also power steering, power disk brakes, and original factory AC which was just extensively restored along with the heater in 2018 and works perfectly. The interior was also recently restored, with rebuilt and recovered seats, carpet, door panels and trim, and the gauges have all been rebuilt to new condition, as has the factory AM/FM radio.  Everything works!

Mechanically, the car is fairly original, with some sympathetic restoration to make it sound and reliable. That includes a new engine wiring harness, rebuilt Carter 4-barrel carburetor, upgraded date-stamped radiator, rebuilt starter, water pump, distributor, headlights, and a number of other small things. It has 4 new classic-looking white-wall tires (Tiger Paw radials). The soft top is in very good condition, and has rebuilt latches. Much of the work was done by a local classic Corvette specialist active in the NCRS community.

The paint is an older respray by the previous owner and is not show-quality, but the car gets comments every time we take it out. I drive and enjoy this car, and some items show age or use or are not yet restored. However, all the work we've done has been with period-correct parts in the original style, in case one wanted to take it the rest of the way and take it to shows as a numbers-matching car with a relatively rare combination of options. According to a friend in the NCRS, this is 1 of 210 built in 1965 as an auto, 327/300hp, with A/C.

Included is about a 3/4 complete written ownership history, original manuals and documentation, and some spare parts.

This is a private-party sale of my personal car, please contact me with any questions. Thank you!
