This 1965 Chevrolet Corvair presents a well-loved and thoughtfully upgraded example of Chevrolets unique air-cooled classic.

Under the care of its current owner since 2007, the car has seen extensive mechanical and cosmetic improvements aimed at both performance and comfort while preserving its vintage charm. At the heart of the Corvair is a 140-horsepower, air-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, now enhanced with a pair of Holley Weber 32/36 two-barrel carburetors for improved throttle response and power delivery. The powerplant is mated to a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission, which received a new clutch plate, throw-out bearing, input shaft, solid flywheel, and pressure plate, ensuring smooth and reliable gear changes.



The suspension has been thoroughly refreshed for a more confident ride, including new front and rear shocks and coil springs (installed in early 2008), as well as replaced universal joints and suspension bushings. The Corvairs stopping power was also improved with updated front brake components. A 3.55 rear end provides a balanced mix of acceleration and cruising comfort.



Inside, the cabin reflects tasteful upgrades that blend vintage styling with modern convenience. New carpet has been installed along with a fresh headliner crafted by Kents Auto Upholstery. A custom aftermarket leather steering wheel adds a sporty touch, while a RetroSound AM/FM Bluetooth radio brings contemporary audio capability to the dash. The sound system is further enhanced by a set of Kenwood rear speakers.



Visually, the car makes a bold statement thanks to a striking set of 100-spoke wire wheels that set it apart from more traditional Corvairs. Overall, this 65 Corvair strikes a compelling balance between originality, period-correct upgrades, and thoughtful personalization ready to be enjoyed on the road or shown with pride.
