The 1965 Chevrolet C10 is a highly desirable classic pickup marking the penultimate year of the first-generation C/K series. Renowned for bridging the gap between utilitarian workhorses and comfortable daily drivers, the 65 model is an absolute favorite among collectors, custom hot-rod builders, and patina enthusiasts.
Key Specifications & Features
- Suspension Innovation: Features an advanced front coil-spring independent suspension setup. This system dramatically improved handling and ride comfort compared to traditional solid-axle leaf springs.
- Engine Options: The standard motor was a 230 cubic-inch inline-6. Buyers could also upgrade to a high-torque 292 inline-6 or a 283 V8. Critically, 1965 introduced the highly regarded 327 cubic-inch V8 (producing 220 horsepower) to the light-duty truck lineup.
- Transmissions: Most base models came standard with a 3-speed manual transmission shifted directly on the steering column (colloquially known as a three-on-the-tree).
