From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview
1965 Buick Riviera $27,500
Beautiful 1965 Riviera, a rust free California car with 401ci original rebuilt motor, 67k miles, and rebuilt transmission. Bill Mitchells design reached its full implementation in 1965 with the full clam-shell headlights, taillights in the bumper, and no body side indentations. Named one of the top 50 beautiful American cars.
The car is beautifully painted in 2001 Mercedes silver flake that has a little pearl look to it. The car was professionally painted and well blocked so the panels are straight. The car has not seen rain in over 20 years, and has never seen a winter. Car is never hosed down, but hand washed, while not allowing moisture behind any trim. Car is at stock height with 20" Chrome Centerline rims. Odometer says 67K, but cannot vouch for miles except the ones I hace put on in the last 10 1/2 wonderful years. I am its 3rd owner, and have put 9k miles on the car. It drives great and starts every time. Has never failed me. Aftermarket stereo with 3 subwoofers in the trunk. Video currently does not work. Used to have an Air-Ride suspension, and that was removed this year. The frame is straight and rust free. New 4 core radiator, head gaskets replaced 2016 and heads cleaned up. New alternator, bumpers rechromed, has electronic ignition, newer carburetor, and brakes pads just replaced. Have significant number of additional parts including: a set of rocker panel trim, a second set of clam shell headlights, a second center console, original carburetor, original alternator, original valve covers, original air cleaner, a spare set of chrome fender trim. When I purchased the car, it came with a pallet of spare and original parts. These would go to the buyer. I love this car, and it brings nothing but smiles when I drive it. I live west of Chicago, so come take a look.
