Classic Car Overview
This 1965 Austin FX4 has been in the same family for 15 years and was cosmetically refurbished by the previous sellers father, who acquired it in disrepair. Over several years, body work, paint, an interior refresh, and a transmission service were conducted. Power comes from a 2178cc four cylinder diesel engine backed by a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox. Produced from 1958 until 1997, the FX4 was designed with a separate chassis, independent front suspension and dual-circuit hydraulic brakes. Body work and two stage black paint were professionally done per the previous seller. Early roof-mounted turn indicators remain and refurbished wheels show some pitting. The tan leather upholstery was added after the paintwork was completed. 14k kilometers are shown on the odometer and true mileage is unknown. Original taxi livery remains, including a fare table, meter, and privacy glass.
