Classic Car Overview
To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys Paris event, 4 - 5 February 2025.
Offered Without Reserve 25,000 - 35,000 EUR
In 1962 Alfa Romeo became one of the first manufacturers to install powerful engines in lightweight cars for mainstream production, creating the Giulia line of sport saloons. The Giulia Super was introduced at the 1965 Geneva Motor Show. Designed as a road car, but incorporating technology from the racing TI Super, the Giulia Super was hugely popular and became the most successful Giulia saloon. The 1,570-cc engine was borrowed from the TI Super and fed by two double-choke Weber 40DCOE carburettors.
According to a copy of the build sheet, this particular Giulia Super was completed and delivered new to Milan in May 1965. The car was specified in Verde Muschio, a colour it still wears today, and which complements its red interior. According to a copy of its estratto cronologico, the car has had six owners from new, with the first five of these all based in the Milan region. In 2015, chassis AR310545 was exported to Belgium to join The Curated Collection. A smart example of the quintessential Italian four-door saloon, this Alfa Romeo is not one to be ignored.
