Classic Car Overview

1964 Porsche 356SC is a Coupe, VIN: 217350 with matching numbers Engine 811451 and Transmission 76059. This has always been a California 356. According to the Porsche Kardex this 356SC was imported by Hoffman Motors in New York, and sold to the first owner in Manhattan Beach, California. It has front fog lights and VDO gauges. The exterior color is Signal Red, the paintwork is in great condition with a Black interior. The front seats, dashboard and door panels have been reupholstered and new square weave carpets installed.

A recent mechanical restoration was performed to keep the 356SC in excellent running and driving condition includes extensive work on all systems including engine, steering, brakes, suspension and drive train. The engine top end was rebuilt with new valves and guides, push rods, rod bearings, pistons,
cylinders, heads, and a gasket set, a new clutch, pressure plate and throughout bearing were installed. A new gas tank, muffler, tires, battery, and brake pads were installed, and all the steel metal was powder coated. New rubber seals have been installed to door openings, windows and lids. Many new rubber suspension components were replaced. The floor pans and suspension were stripped to bare metal. There is no visible rust. Protective sealer and caulking were re-applied to the undercarriage. During the last tune up there was an oil and filter change which included a fuel filter plus valve and carburetor adjustment. This 356SC has Solex Carburetors and produces 95 HP from the matching number type 616/16 engine, 4-speed Type 741Transmission. It has four-wheel disc brakes.

It runs amazing well and is fun to drive with plenty of power. The 356SC is the is the end of the era and is the best 356 to drive.
