From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

Classic Car Overview

Has had a frame off, rotisserie restoration on it. No expense spared. It is a PHS documented 336 codeh.p. 389 tri-power automatic. it is one of 860 (336 code) 389 tri-power cars built in 1964. The car has it's original numbers matching the engine, #9770716 heads, tri-power, etc... The body was taken down to bare metal and was repainted in its original color code DD Silver Mist Grey. The body work is laser straight. Retains 90% of its original black interior, only the inserts in the front buckets, the carpet and the headliner are new. It was optioned with manual brakes, power steering, duel exhaust, 3.23 posi, and 8-lug wheels. The original owners manual with identification plates are still with the car. The original 336 code block was bored .060 over and fitted with TRW 400 forged pistons, clevite bearings, reground crank, etc... Original 716 heads were totally redone with new valve guides, seats, valves, springs, etc... Engine runs fantastic and is restored down to the original hose clamps, date coded spark plug wires, and original type battery. This code engine could have also been ordered in Catalinas, which is where 80-90% of the went into, due to there lighter weight. When you figure in this factor, this could be one of 50 or could be the only one ever ordered in a Grand Prix with this color/interior combination. Original trans was rebuilt and works great. The chrome and stainless trim were professionally redone. There are too many details to list with this car. The car has had everything rebuilt or replaced underneath, in the trunk area, everywhere. This car has won numerous best of shows, and poplar votes at all Pontiac shows, and has been professionally point judged, where it has won the highest award given, (platinum), in the stock category.
