Classic Car Overview

West Coast Classics are proud to present this all-original, stock, and reportedly three owner car since new. This very honest 1964 Chrysler Imperial Crown 4 Door Hardtop is an all-original, stock, example with its all original Dune Beige (Paint code XX) and Tan leather (Trim code M3T) interior! Its powered by a 413/375hp V8 engine coupled to a 3-speed push-button automatic transmission and is equipped with power windows, power brakes, power steering and a remote-controlled outside rearview mirror. An exclusive car with a steep price tag, the 1964 Imperial Crown was built by Chrysler with this four-door hardtop having all its original paint and a leather interior that is also original to the car and in very good and unmolested condition. There are no signs of either existing rust or past rust repairs and all body panels on the car are original. The grille and other bright trim are complete and in very good undamaged, unrestored condition. The Imperial Crown?s finned wheel covers look to be in very good, undamaged condition. The car is optioned with auto-dimming headlamps, and reports no issues with the glass.Factory options include power windows, power door locks, power antenna, a power trunk release, and cruise control. The carpeted trunk presents as being clean and includes what appears to be the original spare tire.340 bhp, 413 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine, Three-speed TorqueFlite transmission,Torsion bar independent front suspension,Live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 129 inFollowing World War II, Chryslers Imperial line retreated to long-wheelbase sedan or limousine body styles. In the mid-1950s, a sea change in marketing took place. What had long been the most expensive Chrysler model became for the 1955 year simply Imperial as any Imperialist will be quick to tell you! They offered three body styles in the series. This separate badging was a direct challenge to Lincoln and Cadillac. For the next two years, Imperial was basically a long-wheelbase Chrysler with a bolder grille, the latter appropriated for Chryslers performance model, the 300.Starting in 1957, the Imperial adopted a distinctive new look featuring iconic gun-sight taillights, large fins, and pioneering curved side glass, along with a mock spare tire decklid feature inspired by earlier Virgil Exner concepts. While the 1958 and 1959 models were primarily facelift with the latter boasting a more aggressive, vertical-tooth grill they marked a key mechanical shift from the Hemi to a 413-cubic inch wedge engine, paired with the standard push-button TorqueFlite automatic. Between 1961 and 1963, the design introduced a retro feel with free-standing quad headlights, while retaining the signature fins and lights. This era concluded with a significant 1964 redesign, introducing the perpendicular styling cues established by Elwood Engel. In conclusion you will look long and hard to find a more honest or better driving example of this classic 1964 Chrysler Imperial 4 Door Hardtop anywhere else.
