Classic Car Overview
This vehicle is located at our Indianapolis facility - 2461 Reeves Rd #194, Plainfield, IN 46168
The 1964 Chevrolet Cheetah Replica offered here is a striking example of one of the most legendary American racing machines ever conceived, recreated by Shell Valley Companies of Nebraska. Shell Valley is well known for their attention to detail in building accurate and high-quality replicas, and this car captures the raw essence of the original. Finished in a bold shade of orange over a purposeful black interior, it immediately commands attention and exudes an unmistakable racing presence. Beneath the lightweight bodywork sits a powerful 383ci stroker V8, delivering brutal acceleration and a thunderous soundtrack. Power is routed through a Muncie M-20 4-speed manual transmission and transferred to the pavement by a Ford 9-inch rear end, ensuring durability and performance under hard driving. Stopping power and pedal feel are enhanced by Wilwood brake and clutch master cylinders, while a quick-release steering wheel gives the driver both security and convenience.
The original Chevrolet Cheetah was born out of Chevrolet engineer Bill Thomass desire to create a factory-backed racing car to challenge Carroll Shelbys Cobra on the track. Using Corvette mechanicals, the Cheetah was designed with an aggressive, short-wheelbase chassis and swooping, aerodynamic bodywork. Only a handful of authentic Cheetahs were built in the early 1960s, making them one of the rarest and most coveted American race cars ever produced. On the track, the Cheetah proved itself as a fierce competitor, capable of going toe-to-toe with Shelbys Cobra thanks to its lightweight construction and massive Chevrolet V8 power. Though its racing career was cut short due to rule changes and limited production, the Cheetahs legend lives on as a symbol of Chevrolets racing spirit in the golden era of American sports cars.
This Shell Valley-built Cheetah Replica embodies that same racing heritage, offering the look, sound, and performance of the original in a package that is both thrilling to drive and attainable compared to the few surviving originals. With its potent drivetrain, competition-focused equipment, and iconic styling, its a machine that captures the spirit of 1960s sports car racing and delivers an experience that is every bit as exciting today.
Price does not include applicable tax, title, license, processing, and/or $240 documentation fees.
