Classic Car Overview

1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 2 Door Hardtop For consignment, a 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 2 door hardtop with a title verified 38,543 actual miles. In recent years, this heartbeat of America received a transplant and now houses a 350 with an astonishing 357 horsepower, disc brakes up front, and air conditioning! Exterior Were going deep here with two stage maroon metallic paint that is not just contrasted by the bright work on the car, its accentuated by it! While the slab sided panels and the spear trim on the side are consistent with many cars of the era, its the distinctive headlights and of course, tail section that makes the Impala stand out. We rolled with the design in the 60s, but today the triple tail lights, broad bright turned metal trim in back, along with the dual headlights on the flat faced grille, is special and cool and instantly recognizable, and its all presented with great quality here. To add even more excitement, 15-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels are tucked in the wheel wells with staggered size tires that gives the car a subtle two inch rake, fitting for a beefed up SS. Imperfections are few with some cracking paint in a seam and a scuff on a rear fender. Interior Nicely restored and looking just like the showroom, the door panels, seats and all trim is polished and in excellent condition. Low back buckets for the front, and a wide rear bench complete are also in nice shape with the slightest compression on the front seats. The original dash in black with a shiny machined aluminum strip that runs across the bottom, is fronted by a wood rimmed, three spoke steering wheel. A factory tachometer is attached to the steering column along with Bosch units for temp and oil pressure, while a stock looking AM radio was converted to an AM/FM radio with Bluetooth and Classic Auto Air vents clinging to the dash bottom are also onboard. Black carpet for the floors is stain and fade free, and the headliner is mostly tight all in black. Lest we forget a Hurst shifter rises from the center console just before meeting the dash, offset to be closer to the driver and based in more turned aluminum. The trunk is clean and finished with gray cloth mats and the perforated headliner is in good condition. Drivetrain Show quality clean is how we find the 350ci V8 with an 870cfm Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel carburetor, A/C, Hedman headers, and a brake booster. The engine has been rated at 357 horsepower and is mated to a Muncie M20 4-speed manual sending power to the rear axle with 3.08 gears. Undercarriage Generally clean underneath with a drop or two of the red stuff on the transmission pan and some wetness on the rear differential but no surface rust to speak of other than a part of the exhaust. The dual exhaust conforms to the X-frame and finds stock style mufflers before exiting through tailpipes just under the rear bumper. Power brakes are here as rear drums and newly converted front discs while suspension includes new coil springs up front along with new tubular control arms, and a 3 link with coil springs and a panhard bar out back. Drive-Ability The SS moniker promises performance and this one keeps its promise with a healthy running 350, good acceleration and power, solid braking, and straight tracking. We note a leak in the passenger side header and the only things not working are the clock and reverse lights. All other functions on this maroon mover operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. The paint and stance will stop you in your tracks and then youll realize your long search for the ideal Impala SS has just ended! You found one with a great engine, a clean interior, classic looks combined with air conditioning and a Bluetooth empowered radio. The hunt is over, its time to bag this Impala and start putting trophies on your wall. 41447L153259 4-1964 14-Impala SS 47-2 Door Sport Coupe L-Los Angeles, CA Assy Plant 153259-Sequential Unit Number TRIM TAG 2C-3rd Week February Build STYLE 64 1447-1964 Impala SS BODY VN10235-Los Angeles Body # TRIM 845-Ivory & Aqua Vinyl PAINT 919-Lagoon Aqua ACC 2LPS-L M20 4 Speed, P Comfort & Convenience Group, S Rear Antenna 3C-Padded Dash 5W-Custom Deluxe Front Belts With Retractors Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (thats more than 8 acres!).
