From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview
1964 Chevrolet Impala $11,900
A great classic to add to your collection. This ’64 Impala is a clean original that is a one family owned car, with 68,483 actual miles. This is a Midwest car, but with that mileage this Impala has only had an average of 1,300 miles put on it each year. The trim, sheet metal, mechanics and interior are all in very good condition. It is obvious that a lot of time and care has gone into preserving this Impala.
The exterior is the original azure aqua with the dealer add-on of the ermine white accent upgrade. The paint finish has retained a very good shine with only a few spots that show blemishes. The sheet metal is in excellent original condition. The ’64 Impala used a subtle array of exterior moldings that really add to the flow and define the body lines, and the exterior trim is in good condition. All the trim and emblems are intact.
The interior is also in excellent condition, without any tears, cracks, or wear marks. The interior is the correct aqua vinyl with the cloth inserts.
The powerplant is a 283-cubic inch V8 matched to the 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission. Both have been rebuilt, and the ’64 starts, drives, and shifts smoothly. The ’64 comes with stacks receipts and log of repairs over the year, original owner’s manual, even the original purchase receipt from the dealer.
This ’64 Impala won’t last long! Give us a call or email with any questions.
