1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
Cleveland, OH 44126
The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!
The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.
Classic Car Overview
The second generation (C2) Corvette, production started for the 1963 model year and ended in 1967, Introducing a new name, "Sting Ray". The Sting Ray featured hidden headlamps, non-functional hood vents, and an independent rear suspension. which introduced Sting Ray to the model, and the 1964 model featured a distinctive tapering rear deck, featured hidden headlamps, non-functional hood vents, continued with fiberglass body panels, and overall, was smaller than the first generation. The C2 was later referred to as mid-years. The car was designed by Larry Shinoda with major inspiration from a previous concept design called the "Q Corvette," which was created by Peter Brock and Chuck Pohlmann under the styling direction of Bill Mitchell.
This beautiful 1964 Corvette Sting Ray Show Car was painted by a real craftsman around 1980. The base color is Ford Brite Red laquer and all the design work is hand masked and sprayed, no decals were used and it took an imense amount of time and talent. The paint is all laquer with lots of coats of clear applied and hand wet sanded and buffed to provide the ultimate shine and protect and enhance the design. There are two minor chips, one on the L frt. fender one on the R door, both very small.
The complete undercarriage and all suspension items are also painted red. The original side pipes look and sound awesome and there is a AM/FM Cd player in the glove box and extra speakers underdash. The engine compartment is super detailed and painted body color, original 327 engine painted, original Corvette valve covers, chrome accessories, chrome brake booster & master cylinder, oil pan, red chrome plated alternator, aluminumized exhaust manifolds and pipes, braided lines, and the red line tires with Classic Creager wheels really set this Vette off from the crowd.
