Classic Car Overview

1964 Chevrolet Corvair $13,500

Blue · 6 Cylinder · 68,000 miles

This is a 110hp Monza Convertible from Texas with a 164ci engine, a 4-speed manual transmission, and A/C. It was lovingly restored five years ago by the previous owner, who was a retired aircraft mechanic. He rebuilt bushing and suspension and had the engine rebuilt (about 11,000 miles ago). He replaced the interior, top, re-chromed the exterior, resealed everything, had the entire care repainted in the original Daytona Blue, installed Ansen Sprint 15” wheels, and a 12-volt alternator system.

The previous owner also installed a Clark's 50/50 air conditioning kit (factory evaporator and interior control panel, Sanden compressor, and front trunk condenser and fan). The condenser coil is in a recessed area of the trunk with a false floor above it (see photos). It has a puller fan that works well, pulling air nicely across the condenser.

I purchased the car in 2014 and took it to local Corvair legend Gary Nelson, who inspected the car bumper-to-bumper, and addressed every mechanical imperfection he found. The result is a car as beautiful mechanically as it is visually. That said, this is not a show car and it does have small nicks in the paint. One on the hood and another over the right front wheel well. Both could be easily covered by someone with car painting experience.

Car includes four blue Corvair-branded floormats in excellent condition and a Clark's car cover (not shown).

I am not a mechanic, but I'll do my best to answer any questions you have. I'm also happy to help coordinate shipping should you need it.

By the way, before purchasing the car I paid for an inspection by Alliance Inspection Management. I've included photos of their report should it come in handy.
