This 1964 Buick Riviera is a beautiful, luxurious hardtop that is absolutely loaded with options! Initially making their debut during the 1963 model year, the Buick Riviera signified Buicks entrance into upper medium price class for personal luxury automobiles, a genre completely dominated by the Thunderbird up until this point. Built on their own unique 117 inch wheelbase chassis and utilizing a 2-door hardtop body, the Riviera stylistically was unlike any car coming out of Buick in the day or even out of General Motors at the time. Down the sides, the body lines were elegantly modern with special trim, including Riviera script emblems, bright rocker panel and wheel well moldings, and a faux air intake in front of the rear wheel openings. In the rear, the personal luxury and modern design motifs were continued with very modern-looking body lines, a Riviera script emblem, and unique taillight assemblies. The interiors exuded luxury as well. Front bucket seats were separated by a center console and shifter that made the cars look and feel sporty yet upscale. The dash was covered in brightwork that was both extravagant and futuristic.
