The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

"This 1963 VW Bug, which Ive since 2015, is in great shape. Since purchasing, the vehicle has new tires. I have re-upholstered the interior, converted the electrical system from 6 volt to 12 volt, installed new audio system, repainted the exterior and rewired the vehicle during the 6 to 12 volt conversion. Several smaller items..... side running boards, window cranks, wiper blade assemblies, hub caps, trunk latch assembly (front and rear) have also been replaced. The VW has 68,500 miles currently, myself adding an additional 200-250 total miles since 2015, usually driving 2 -3 times per month on errands. The engine is clean, and has had consistent oil changes and tune-ups during my ownership. It's most likely a 1500 (block# is AH271642). Were I continue the restoration I would address the dashboard panel/switches that need some attention, and purchase a spare tire. It has been a pleasure to own and restore over my years as owner."
