1963 R2 Supercharged Avanti. This low mileage example of the iconic Paxton supercharged Avanti has been fully and meticulously restored. It has its correct 289 CI V8 engine, four speed transmission and positraction rear end.
In 1963, Studebaker went all in on the production of this car in an effort to raise their company out of financial difficulties. The result of their efforts produced this four passenger fiberglassed body stunning sport sedan which to this day continues to be a timeless beauty. The Avanti claimed many speed records to its credit in its fledgling year and the supercharged Avanti was then the fastest production car on the planet recording 178 miles per hour at the Bonneville salt flats.
This ultra low mileage R2 Avanti has increased in value over the years and should continue to do so. It had spent many years off the road prior to its complete frame off professional restoration and has been brought back to original condition with a color change being the only deviation. Equipped with period correct mag wheels, the correct original Avanti hub caps are included with the car.
