Classic Car Overview

1963 Porsche 356B Super Coupe VIN 121633 Engine No. 703753 - Matching Certificate of Authenticity Completed September 11, 1962 Southern California Black plate factory Super 356B Coupe with six (6) owners, finished in Viper Green over Black upholstery. Originally finished in Silver Metallic (6206) with a Black interior. Optional equipment includes an Extended Steering Column and Phoenix Tires. The paintwork is in great condition and complemented by the bright work. The upholstery is in very good shape and features a VDM steering wheel, factory VDO instrumentation, CoCo mats, and a Saphire II radio. The 15 x 4 wheels are painted silver with Super hubcaps and are mounted to Michelin XZX 165 SR15 tires. The undercarriage and suspension have been completely detailed and are solid and rust-free. According to the factory Certificate of Authenticity, this 356B was originally delivered by Competition Motors in Hollywood, California. The first owner was Mr. Rozeuer, who took delivery on February 2, 1963. The second owner, Mr. Thompson, who resided in Whittier, California, owned this 356 until the late 1970s. In the mid-1980s, the 356 was acquired by Mr. McGrath, who initiated an extensive cosmetic restoration. Mr. McGrath worked with Herbies Auto Body in Los Angeles, California, and changed the exterior color to Viper Green. At the same time, all chrome components were replated by Monitor Plating and Central Plating, and Ken Sorrenson Top Shop reupholstered the interior. Essential trim and components required to complete the restoration were procured from Performance Products and International Mercantile. The 356B remained with two additional owners in Southern California until 2016 when the past owner took possession of the vehicle. Under this ownership, the 356B received updates including a new sway bar bushing kit, a new clutch kit, and an engine rebuild from the short block conducted by AASE Motors in Fullerton, California. This 356 is equipped with the matching 1600cc flat-four Super engine, generating 75 horsepower paired with a manual 4-speed transmission (Type 741). Complete with a Certificate of Authenticity, the Porsche Kardex, a spare tire, registration documents, and a comprehensive service history spanning 39 years. This 356B Super Coupe has been meticulously maintained and documented, reflecting a high standard of care and preservation.
