Classic Car Overview

his 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe was refurbished under prior ownership and is finished in red with a white roof over a red vinyl interior. Power is provided by a 289ci V8 that is topped with a polished aluminum intake manifold and an Edelbrock carburetor and is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Drilled front disc brakes are installed along with 15 American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, a dual exhaust system, an aluminum radiator, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The hardtop body was refinished in red with a white roof under prior ownership, reportedly approximately 10 years ago. Features include a polished grille and headlight bezels, dual side mirrors, backup lights, and chrome bumpers. Dings and fading in the tail-panel trim are pictured in the gallery below. The 15 American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are wrapped in 195/60 front and 225/60 rear Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs with drilled rotors and rear drums. The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in red vinyl and accompanied by a coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. The dashboard is finished in red and houses an AM radio. The wood-rimmed aftermarket steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. The replacement 289ci V8 features a polished TSP aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and a finned aluminum air cleaner lid and valve covers. An aluminum radiator is also installed along with a dual exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
