1963 Chevrolet Impala SS

The third generation of Chevrolet Impala was built from 1961 through 1964 and for the first time would offer a plethora of engine configurations and trim. This would also be the era to kick off the Muscle Car of the late 1960s but it had to start somewhere, and in my opinion started before the Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang and Mopars. It started with jamming monster American displacement motors in what used to be family cruisers. Although you could get some big motors a year or two before 1963, 1963 is pretty much where it started and the Impala of this year would go on to become one of the most sought after cars of the early 1960s This particular absolute stunning example comes out of a collection which where it had excellent ownership and care, not to mention a full frame off restoration in 2008, however remains still in like showroom condition with very few miles logged since that time. This is a #s car as indicated by the seller with a different water pump, intake, valve covers and pulley but all the originals come with the car including the original seatbelts. The Offenhauser valve covers are really cool though!. The interior is like new, the underside still shows very well and the engine bay speaks for itself. This Impala starts perfectly, sounds perfect, idles easily, shifts nicely, brakes well and everything is in working order. It goes down the road so nicely with no rattles, smoke or squeaks and demands attention at every corner. There is no way you would be able to restore this car to this quality for the asking price, let alone the purchase of the car to restore.
