Classic Car Overview

1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible For consignment, a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible with a title verified 53,180 actual miles. This example has a numbers matching drivetrain and a laundry list of newer items including everything from the fuel system to suspension components. It comes with the factory accessory hardtop. Exterior 3,212 Corvettes left the factory is Silver Blue Metallic in 1963 and its aptly named as a silvery light blue covers Americas sports car in what some would argue is the best color. In the right light, subtle body lines are accentuated by shadows including the crease in each fender and the horizontal twin fender vents that will hold over to 64, their final year before a redesign. A gentle crease runs the center of the decklid and onto the cowl cover for the soft top, while exhaust tips protrude through the body panel beneath the chrome bumper. Large hood vents flank the torpedo shaped detail puts the sting in Sting Ray, coming to a point just past the hood gap. Chrome wheel covers fit the 15-inch wheels on which white wall 205/75R15 tires with a mid 2020 date code ride, between the finned rocker trim synonymous with classic Vettes of this era. The white canvas top and its window, the paint, and metalwork are all in overall great condition. Imperfections include small scratches and cracking paint, various bubbles, a few areas of evident filler, and a crack in the fiberglass at a wheel arch. Interior Swing open the doors to reveal a vertical insert of pleated styling split by a polished trim piece, then a smooth bottom panel, all in very dark blue. All the navy blue is offset by chrome window cranks, sliding knob for a door actuator, and two jet age reflectors. Blue grain vinyl low back buckets are flanking a center armrest where some carpet has come loose. A chromed center console in gleaming goodness holds a ball handled shifter, then climbs straight up to become blue vinyl and house a side mounted radio, various knobs and pulls and large chrome bezel black faced clock. In front of the driver and passenger are two graceful cowls, one over the glovebox, and the other for the gauge cluster where we note some very slight pitting on a ring. The textured black plastic background is clean and the glovebox has a brushed aluminum door for contrast and style. The 3 spoke steering wheel has a crossed flag center badge and blue carpet in the wheel wells presents with equal good quality. Drivetrain Under the hood is the clean, numbers matching 327ci L75 V8, rated at 300 horsepower and mated to the numbers matching Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission with new shifter linkage and clutch. Power is routed to 3.36 gears and Positraction in the rear axle with a 1965 date stamping. Undercarriage Lots of newer parts underneath including U-joints, fuel lines, shocks, rear suspension and brake lines on the four wheel drum system. The dual exhaust, like the rest of the underside, is clean and routes its way back through stock style mufflers. Suspension consists of coil springs up front and transverse leaf springs with tubular axle driveshafts in the back, making both sides independent. Drive-Ability A quick starter and smooth idle. Pressing the accelerator made this car come to life and on the test loop it showed us nice acceleration, good handling and smooth shifting with an easy clutch. There were no faults or frowns to speak of during our time behind the wheel save for the clock and wipers not working. All other functions operate as expected. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Two words say it all, numbers matching. Well add one more, clean! Obviously, the Silver Blue Metallic speaks for itself and is loved by men and women alike. This is a very special toy thats been well sorted and well maintained. Its worthy of its own garage but will understand if you have to park it next to the minivan in your two car garage. 30867S119984 3-1963 08-Corvette 67-Convertible S-St. Louis, MO Assy Plant 119984-Sequential Unit Number TRIM TAG K3-July 3rd STYLE 63 867-1963 Corvette Convertible BODY 10129-St. Louis Body # TRIM 490K-Dark Blue Vinyl PAINT 912A-Silver Blue Metallic Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (thats more than 8 acres!).
