1963 Chevrolet Corvette

There are few cars as iconic or revered as a 1963 Corvette split-window coupe. Looking like a concept car that escaped the turntable at a car show, this Corvette has been spinning heads since it marked the start of the second-generation (C2) of Americas sports car.



Here we have a beautiful split-window coupe that is a well-maintained, very nice driver-quality example. The arrow-straight, rock-solid body is finished in the correct Saddle Tan Metallic paint that gleams, as does the various chrome and stainless-steel trim. Factory spinner-style wheel covers fitted with correct, old-school-style tires add the perfect punctuation mark to the cars strong visual statement.



Inside, the original interior presents mostly well, with the few notable flaws being a split in the drivers seat and a cracked dash pad. The door panels, carpeting and headliner are all in nice shape and the original AM radio still resides in the center stack. The carpeting was replaced in the late 90s and shows extremely nice.



Under the hood is an NOM 1967 327 V8 rated at 300 horsepower. It sends its spirited power to the original 3.36-geared Posi traction rear end via the original 4-speed manual transmission. Note that we will be installing the correct factory-style shifter as well as a new gas pedal and hood release handle,



As we have just spent around $4,500 at Johns Corvette to get the car fully sorted and ready to enjoy, this Split Window sounds, runs and drives great. Not much beats grabbing gears while the 327 sings on your favorite deserted back roads.



Note that there are other parts incoming that will be installed, such as distributor shielding, the gas pedal, the correct 300-HP air cleaner element, the passenger-side window crank and a date correct new windshield. The original windshield has small 3 crack down at the bottom of the cars windshield.



Nice, original split window Corvettes dont come up for sale too often, and when they do they tend to be very expensive cars. Here is an opportunity to acquire one for considerably less than what youll see at the big auction houses.
