Classic Car Overview

While every generation of GMs halo car has a strong argument for which one is best, the C2 is always in contention. Taking things a step further, arguably the best and most exciting version of the second-generation Corvette was the remarkable Grand Sport. That is why this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Tribute had many of us stop dead in our tracks to appreciate this unique and rare ride. Sporting a custom Grand Sport nose, headlight, grille, front fenders, hood, and even a custom red powder-coated frame, this head-turning machine has been fully repainted in Riverside Red, complete with a single center white racing stripe, guaranteeing this car will be the center of attention anywhere it goes. Inside, we find a fully restored red leather interior that features even more custom parts. A chrome power-assisted wheel sits atop a custom tilt steering column, while a custom dash trim is home to a custom AutoMeter gauge cluster. A custom air conditioning control panel blow cool air through, you guessed it, custom AC outlets. A dash-mounted Audiovox AM/FM/CD head unit powers a set of concealed speakers, while the custom sound insulation makes it even easier to enjoy. Under that aggressive, louvered, front-hinged hood, we find a highly modified naturally aspirated 350 cubic-inch V-8 engine. Beginning with a Vortec block, this small block gets aluminum heads, a GM aluminum intake manifold, a single four-barrel Demon carburetor, an HEI ignition, an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, and long-tube headers feeding into those glorious-sounding side pipes. That power is routed through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission before being sent out to the rear wheels. This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Tribute takes that sentiment and adds a custom front and rear suspension, A-arms, front sway bar, and adjustable coilovers at all four corners. A custom rack-and-pinion steering setup, along with four-wheel power disc brakes featuring vented front and rear discs, completes the performance package, ensuring this Grand Sport Tribute can live up to its namesake -stopping, going, and turning. If you were not able to get your hands on one of the five original Grand Sports made, then this is your chance to find out why so many believe this iteration of the Corvette may just be the best one yet.
